The Windows market is due for a shakeup this summer, however, when Microsoft launches Windows 10. 2 spot among all operating systems, behind Windows 7 but ahead of Windows 8 and 8.1. That number is down from the 19.1 percent recorded in February and the 27.6 percent tracked in March of 2014. The latest stats for March from Web tracker Net Applications show XP with a 16.9 percent share of desktop OS Web traffic. The percentage of active XP computers has continued to drop. #Google chrome download windows xp update"That's why we strongly encourage everyone to update to a supported, secure operating system." "At the operating system level, computers running XP are inherently in danger of being infected by malware and viruses, making it increasingly difficult for Chrome to provide a secure browsing environment," Larson said. But ultimately XP users still are stuck with a more defenseless operating system, and even Larson advises people to upgrade to a more modern and secure version of Windows. And yes, security updates for Chrome are fine. So Google is throwing XP users a lifeline by continuing to support Chrome. Microsoft's lack of support for Windows XP, which is 13 years old, extends to any version of Internet Explorer running under XP. ![]() As such, XP users are more vulnerable to security threats, including ones that target the browser. If you'd like to do a system install (to Program Files) you'll want to run its batch file counterpart. So, to install for only the current user (to AppData) you'll want to just run the appropriate EXE for your system. #Google chrome download windows xp how toI also figured out how to install Chrome for all users with them via command line. After quite a bit of searching, I managed to hunt down untouched 32-bit and 64-bit installers (I verified their hashes, so they're the real deal). I've had to do this enough times to where I decided that enough was enough, and that I was going to spend the majority of an afternoon looking for an untouched installer for Chrome v.112 (the very last version to support Windows XP and Vista). And sometimes, it just so happens that I need to re-install Windows XP or Vista for someone who uses it as their primary browser. Even though I don't usually use Chrome, it's not uncommon for me to have to re-install Windows for someone who does. I've noticed that it's pretty hard to find a download for the latest version of Google Chrome for Windows XP & Windows Vista. ![]()
